Hi, I’m Loretta Anderson. International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and midwife, living in Brisbane. (For my international readers, that’s in Australia 🙂 )
I created this website because after working with over 10,000 mums, I noticed something important…
Somethings that many healthcare providers gloss over:
Every baby is different!
When it comes to breastfeeding, even though there is a common thread running through much of the advice you’ll get, you must understand…
Little adjustments make a HUGE DIFFERENCE in how well you manage to breastfeed!
And sadly, there is a lot of misinformation out there. Many self-proclaimed experts do more harm than good.
With more and more vlogs and blogs started each day – it’s actually getting harder and harder to find accurate, research-based, scientifically proven information.
And that’s why I created this website:
To put in one place all the information you need to succeed in your breastfeeding journey (no matter how you define “success” – that’s up to you!)
Many of the tips and tweaks you’ll find here can’t be found anywhere on the net, or require a whole lot of research to uncover. I tried to make them as accessible and easy to find and follow as possible.
Still, many mums find they need a bit of help custom tailoring these tips and feeding plans to them and to their bub. And often times, one 15-minute phone call is often all you need to get the right advice and make breastfeeding work for you!
So if you have ANY questions about what you’ve read on this site, or if you’d like to save yourself some trial & error and get my help in picking and choosing the best plan for you – – call me now for a free 15-minute consultation.
Because often times 15 minutes is all you need to reach breastfeeding success!!

About Loretta Anderson, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
I became a Registered Nurse after completing a Bachelor of Nursing degree in 1996. I worked as a nurse in paediatrics and orthopaedics for 3 years, then applied to university again to become a midwife.
Completed my Graduate Diploma in Midwifery in 2000 and commenced full-time work in 2001. But it was only after my first son was born that I discovered my real calling:
Helping new mums breastfeed… showing them how to care for their little bundle of joy… being able to alleviate much of the stress, guilt, and frustrations so many mums face after birth…
It Gave my job a new meaning.
Then at 2007, while I was on maternity leave after having my second child, I had time to see how many struggles mothers were facing with breastfeeding after they leave the hospital.
So now I had a new goal!
Giving mums everything they need to create the breastfeeding journey they want – not just at the hospital… but through every hurdle of the way as their infant grows.
And that required one thing: A LOT of studying and practising… and sitting through the famous IBCLC’s 6-hour long exam…
Which I passed in 2008 with flying colours 🙂
Now that I was an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant – – I was roaring to get back to work!
I came back from my maternity leave to a new job at a large maternity hospital that births over 10,000 babies per year.
My work since then is solely focused on supporting mothers from day 1 right through to the completion of their breastfeeding journey. With expertise in high-difficulties cases (but most of them become simple once I show them the right adjustments to make things flow!)
Academic Achievements & Published Studies
I commenced a Doctor of Philosophy in 2016 and am currently undertaking research into mothers of premature babies and their experiences of expressing and the problems they face.
I have published three journal articles in peer-reviewed journals during my studies, and have spoken at an international conference as well as conferences in Australia.
So today, with the knowledge I have gained through two decades of dedicated work and cutting edge research, I’m proud to bring you this website.
